At
Stillwaters we realise that great mares are the key to any successful
breeding program. We breed our mares to the best stallions available,
both Appaloosas and Quarter Horses. We aim to breed mares that out produce
themselves with a quality foal.
Our mares are shown generally until they are two years old, and bred
as three year olds. We do not breed each mare every season, as we prefer
to concentrate on just a few foals to show each year.

was shown only as a weanling. Commitments to other horses,
and her drastic change in colour saw her head early to
the broodmare band. Her sire is no longer standing to
the public, and we are glad to have two full sisters of
that breeding. Always easy to handle, friendly and good
to have around the young stock, she has grown into a large
scoopy mare with great movement and grace.
Her first foal is yet to be show and may, instead, head
into the world of campdrafting/stock work.

Wish was a well muscled young filly, who
as she grew looked more and more like a hunter horse. She
had spent 12 weeks with Solitaire Performance Horses with
a dream of competition in HUS and HIH. However her show career
has been halted by financial constrains and time. Coupled
with the EI epidemic, we have chosen instead to send her
to the breeding barn. Being one of only two coloured Appaloosa
fillies by the now deceased QH stallion the Exceptionist,
in the world, we expect great things from her in the future.

Cat
has been a pleasure to prepare and show for the last
few years, and was always a popular winner at any show
she attended. She has an easy going, no fuss attitude
to the chores of travel and show prep. Her regal nature
and show ring attitude led her to many wins in both

with her muscular well-proportioned body, and she graced
the cover of the Australian Appaloosa journal in August
